Coral with a splash: Guest Post from Julie

The first guest post this week is from the beautiful and lovely Julie from Brown Eyed Belle. If you've been around this blog for about 2.5 seconds, you know that Julie is one of my bffs--we were sorority sisters in college. She was a natural choice to ask to kick off this week of colorful vaycay! I know you'll love her just as much as I do!

Hello, everyone! I'm Julie, aka Brown Eyed Belle, aka one of Ashley's bffs. So glad you stopped by today! It's so nice to meet you all! My regular gig is over at the blog Brown Eyed Belle, but when ABC (isn't it adorable that those are her initials??) asked me to come over here for the day I was so excited! I simply couldn't say no!

You see, Ashley and I go back to our college days. This is how the ABC-Julie meeting went:

She spotted me on campus. Decided that I MUST be in her sorority. Stalked me relentlessly until I decided to rush. Stalked me relentlessly to make sure I took my bid. I took the bid. We fell in love. And the rest is history! I love my Ashley to pieces!

When Ashley told me that her guest bloggers were going to talk about their favorite colors I got a little too excited! I mean isn't that one of the first questions you ask when you become friends with someone? So, here I am today to talk about one of my favorite colors: Coral.

I found some absolutely amazing images to share with you all! I do a lot of photo posts over at my place so I thought, why not do that for Ashley? Enjoy, lovies!

Aren't these just the most lovely images?? And you know what color I think complements coral perfectly?? Turquoise. Which just so happened to be one of our sorority colors! I promised Ashley I would include a few....

A colorful vaycay

Tomorrow morning I'm hopping on a charter bus with 26 high schoolers, six other adults and one bus driver. And we're going to take this state by storm:

It's choir tour time, and this will be my first year chaperoning the trip. I went all 4 years of high school--and no, I can't sing a lick, but the choir was much bigger back then, and I could blend in no problem--and it was always one of my favorite parts of summer. My senior year we took Texas by storm, so I know it will be a lot fun to go back!

We'll visit Dallas, Georgetown, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Houston. We'll also stop in Memphis and Mobile on either end of the trip. The youth choir will sing in rescue missions, nursing homes, and downtown ministries in various cities. They'll get the chance to serve meals and to minister to folks who are, for one reason or another, in these various situations. I'm so excited to see what God is going to do in the next week!

And, even though it's been a little quiet around here lately, I at least had the forethought to ask three lovely ladies if they would stop by next week to keep you all company, and they graciously accepted! It will be a week of colorful vacation, and if you don't already know the three girls who will be hanging out here, I just know it will be love at first sight! They'll be sharing their favorite colors with you, and it's sure to be a fun week!

I'll start things off on Monday morning, then turn it over to my gracious guest-posters for the rest of the week! I Want One! Friday will go on as planned.
