Things and Such

This post will probably be random. Life is like that sometimes.

First, this tweet made me laugh. And a little sad that I'm not on a train going to Hogwarts.

I freely admit, I'm a HUGE Harry Potter nerd. LOVE it. LOVE it.

Second, if you've clicked over to my blog in the past few weeks, you've probably noticed the Komen 3-Day for the Cure box at the top of my page. (Sort of hard to miss, right?) Hubs' aunt (but I call her my aunt) is participating in this event in Atlanta in October. If you feel so inclined, she and I would both love you forever if you clicked up there and made a small contribution to her fundraising efforts. Her goal is $3300, which is $1000 more than the minimum goal. Not only is she pushing herself physically to train and participate in the walk (60 miles in 3 days is a LONG way, y'all!), she's also pushing herself to raise a larger amount of money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I know we all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer in some way, and the Komen Foundation does SUCH good work in advancing research towards finding better treatments and a cure. I know times are tight, and if you can't contribute, I won't be offended. Just wanted to throw the opportunity out there.

Help me reach my goal for the Susan G. Komen Atlanta 3-Day for the Cure!

Third, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this, but my hubby is a pretty awesome photographer. I might be a little biased, but it's true. Look!

Not too shabby, right? Well, when I got an email in early 2009 from VistaPrint, offering a free calendar, I knew exactly what I wanted. A calendar full of Hubs' photos. What can I say? I'm a sucker for this guy :) He sent me 12 of his favorite images from the previous year, and a short time later, I had an awesome calendar for my desk at work. We repeated this in 2010.

And then I realized I could be the most coordinated person in my office if I used the image from the current month's calendar as my desktop background. And if I put a calendar on the image, I'd just geek out all together. So that's what I've done!

Then I thought...maybe...just maybe...other people would like a cool desktop background image, too. Maybe other people would like a calendar on their desktop. So I decided to share September's desktop image with you. Because I love you!

{Just click on the image above, then right-click on the larger image, and click "set as desktop background"}

Feel free to take it or leave it! But if you take it, I'd love to hear about it :)

And I don't know how closely you were looking at that image. But it says "September." HOLY COW. That means soon that pretty green leaf up there? Soon it will look more like this:

...and I'm totally ok with that.

Those are great pictures! I made a calendar for my MIL one time with pictures of the grandkids, she loved it.
