You've Got Mail

It's strange to me that when I read or hear the words "You've Got Mail" I immediately think of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, not AOL. Back in the day that old ISP would have been my first thought, but turns out the movie has more long-term cultural reference power than what used to be the BEST way to access the 'net. In my mind, anyway.

Moving on.

I LOVE getting snail mail. Love. Love. LOVE. I drive Hubs nuts sometimes asking him if he's been to the mailbox. But I don't like to check the mail at night (that whole walking across a parking lot to a dimly lit structure while dark out doesn't really appeal to me...) and my schedule this week has been crazy. So when Hubs got the mail yesterday, there were all sorts of goodies in there, as I had been neglecting that poor box.

Here's the best stuff:

Clockwise from left:

Paper Source catalog. Do you get this catalog? You NEED to. Click here to sign up. They have the best stuff! This catalog even includes Charlotte's cupcake apron from SATC2!

Super sweet card from Julie. I love this girl! You know that, right? She's really one of the sweetest, most genuine people I know. As awesome as she is on her blog, she's even more awesome in real life. You can trust me on this one. We go back!

Julie also sent me those silly bandz! Yes, I'm wearing them at work today. They make me smile!

Last is a thank you note from a sweet girl I went to high school with. She got married on July 11th, and she's on top of getting her thank you notes out! I'm so impressed. I think it was at least 3 months post-wedding before I finished mine! Good thing Emily Post gives you a year, right??

Also in the mail yesterday? A reminder that I need to renew my driver's license. I turn 25 in December, and in Tennessee, you have to renew every 5th birthday year. OMG--I'm almost 25????

(This is completely unrelated, but typing "Tennessee" made me think of it...We watched Teen Jeopardy last night, and one of the categories was "States without Consonants." The Daily Double answer in the category was "EEEE". The guy could have gotten $2K for saying "What is Tennessee?" But he blew it. And it made me sad.I totally rocked that category, BTW.)

What fun things have you gotten in the mail lately? Are you obsessed with Paper Source, too? I might just make my entire birthday/Christmas wish list from that catalog...
